Staff Spotlight: Jackie Brown

Meet Jackie Brown, Project Manager for GRID Alternatives Central Valley. Jackie was born in Chowchilla, California and she is the youngest of three children. Just as she was starting first grade, her family moved to Springville, California. When she entered Porterville High School, she discovered GRID through the Alternative Energy and Resource Occupations (AERO) Academy. When Jackie started high school, solar wasn't on her mind. She was deeply involved with Future Farmers of America (FFA) and wanted a career in agriculture.

After high school, Jackie was pursuing a degree in Construction management at California State University – Fresno (CSUF). She needed an internship with her degree, and GRID offered her that opportunity. She started as a Solar Installation Intern and then was hired into design team. She would later work with site visits, eventually leading to her promotion to Project Manager. Making sound decisions about volunteering in the past has paved the way forward. Jackie's career with GRID just celebrated nine years.  When asked why she comes to work daily, she responded, "I come here because I belong here."

As a child growing up in the country, wide open spaces provided a playground that satisfied her heart with endless exploration. Having a father who was constantly building and remodeling, construction became second nature. Getting to know Jackie on a more personal basis, as you walk into her office, you'll notice a putting green because one her pastime hobbies is golfing. She also loves Mountain Dew but only from a can or fountain, not a bottle.

GRID Central Valley celebrates and honors Jackie Brown in our staff spotlight. After nine years of hard work and dedication, she's proven worthy of her title. Her creativity shines through her work and everything else she does. Her methodical approach and attention to detail are unmatched by most standards. Every staff member plays a vital role in the success of our organization, and Jackie is no different. We appreciate you, Jackie Brown!
