In today's economy, it's critical that we bring the benefits of renewable energy to the folks that need the savings the most. Join GRID Alternatives on September 12th for SOLARTHON 2009, as we fight the climate crisis and the economic crisis by bringing the benefits of solar power to low-income families. This will be our biggest one-day blowout event ever, with teams of individual fundraisers and corporate sponsors installing 16 solar electric systems in one day in partnership with low-income homeowners in East Oakland.

Registration is now open! Browse this site to learn more about this event, sign up as an individual participant, or learn how your company can be a corporate sponsor. You can also contact Tracie Troxler at ttroxler@gridalternatives.org or (510) 652-4730 x315 with questions.

Last year's SOLARTHON 2008 event was a huge success, installing eight systems for low-income homeowners in Alameda and raising nearly $70,000 for community solar power. Thanks so much to everyone who came out and participated, and to our corporate sponsors, including PG&E, Salesforce.com, MMA Renewable Ventures, Google, Innovalight, WaMu, IBEW Local 595, and ENVIRON.
