The SASH Program offers a way for low-income homeowners to access the benefits of solar energy – lower utility bill expenses and less electricity usage – without bearing the majority of the substantial up-front cost of installing a solar panel system. Depending on your income level, you may be eligible for an entirely free system, or a highly subsidized system.
To determine if you qualify for the SASH Program, please contact GRID Alternatives. Some of the questions GRID Alternatives will ask include the following.
- Do you receive electrical service from Pacific Gas & Electric (PG&E), Southern California Edison (SCE), or San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E)?
- Do you own your own home and live in it?
- Is your household's income 80% or below of the area median income? This will be based on the previous year's tax return. Click here to view the median income in your county.
- Is your home defined as “affordable housing”? Click here for definitions of "affordable housing."
If you answered “Yes” to all of the above questions, you are probably eligible for the SASH Program!
