Greater Los Angeles Solarthon

"So here I am at my 2nd Solarthon and ready to have a great time! First time volunteers get an exciting, educational experience. Volunteers that are looking for work, learn marketable skills. Volunteers that are looking to do something worthwhile for the planet find a home here as well. The friendships I found at GRID will always be with me." -Mitch Tatro, Owner, Solar Performance Solutions

Solarthon is a unique community celebration and solar installation marathon where volunteers, job trainees, and corporate teams gather together to roll up their sleeves and install multiple solar electric systems for low-income families in one neighborhood in one day while raising funds and awareness for GRID's mission.

GRID Alternatives Greater Los Angeles Soalrthon event brings together people from all walks of life and every part of our region; you’ll find environmentalists, renewable energy enthusiasts, clean technology developers or sustainable architects working on a rooftop alongside job trainees, economic and environmental justice activists, and parents who are concerned about the impacts of climate change on their children. At Solarthon we are joined by corporate Green Teams and students and musicians and politicians and anyone else with a passion for making a positive and long lasting clean energy contribution to families in need while helping to protect the planet for all of us.

Be a part of building a sustainable future with a tangible impact today and join us in September 2013 for the GRID Alternatives Greater Los Angeles fourth annual Solarthon. Please contact Development Officer Myshel Prasad at 310-324-8146 x305 or mprasad@gridalternatives.org for more information on how you and your family, your campus chapter, or corporate team can get involved this year.
