As 2014 winds down and as we celebrate Thanksgiving, GRID Alternatives Central Coast would like to acknowledge all our wonderful supporters: volunteers, corporate sponsors, partners, community organizations, friends, and family. With your generosity, our Central Coast regional office celebrated our 500th install last month, in addition to making the incredible work that we are able to report:
Since mid-2010, GRID Alternatives Central Coast has impacted low-income families by providing: 500 solar PV systems installed, 1,696 kW of clean, renewable energy, Over $14 million in savings for families over the systems’ lifetime, 44,381 tons of greenhouse gas emissions prevented over the systems’ lifetimes, equivalent to planting 1,043,000 trees
To help us continue our mission, we invite you to make a financial donation. In the month of November, our regional Development Team will begin making contact with our many solar friends to kick-off our End of Year Giving campaign. Please consider donating to GRID Alternatives Central Coast as part of your annual giving. All donations are 100% tax deductible.
Monday, November 3, 2014 to February 27, 2015 – Charity Match Program - Help us raise $10,000 from individual donations through this program! All funds raised between now and February 27, 2015 will be matched by 20% and up to $75,000. Donors may give to GRID Alternatives Central Coast regardless of where they reside.
Wednesday, November 5 to Friday, November 7 – GRID Alternatives Central Coast Phone-a-Thon – We will be reaching out to our past and present supporters to let you know about the work we have been doing, invite you to donate and to update our records to ensure we are properly informing you of current events.
Tuesday, December 2 – Giving Tuesday – On this day, we will be hitting the pavement, making calls, and sending emails in an effort to inform the community and our supporters about the great work GRID Alternatives Central Coast is doing and how YOU can help increase the impacts we are able to make. Help us reach our goal of raising $1,000 in one day!
Thursday, December 4 – Thank You Thursday in Santa Cruz – For the first time ever, GRID Alternatives Central Coast will be the beneficiary of Santa Cruz Mountain Brewery's Thank You Thursday Fundraiser. This event will take place all day on Thursday, December 4 at the Santa Cruz Mountain Brewery, 402 Ingalls St, #27, Santa Cruz. During business hours that day, $1 of every beer sold will be donated to GRID Alternatives Central Coast! If you are in the area that day, stop by and support us and have a good time doing it. Help us spread the word and invite your friends to attend Thank You Thursday!
