Cal Poly Installs in King City

On the weekend of January 24th and 25th, two groups from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo came out to install solar with us on two homes in King City.  Thank you to the prospective class of the Gamma Zeta Alpha fraternity and the Emerging Green Professionals club.  The Emerging Green Professionals, or EGP, focuses on engaging the future leaders of the green building movement with meaningful projects and community engagement.   The students of EGP braved the two story ladder to install solar on the second story roof of a client in King City.  The pledge group of the Gamma Zeta Alpha fraternity has incorporated community service as a stipulation in the pledge process.  These students installed a complex split array, generously donating some extra time staying a few hours late to make sure the build was completed.

The Student groups consisted of 10 unique volunteers, who donated 306 volunteer hours over the course of the weekend.  The Combined impact of the two projects provides 5.43 KW of installed capacity and $28,802 in client savings over the lifetime of the systems.  We would like to thank both groups who worked tirelessly, with such positive attitudes, on these two solar projects to bring renewable energy to underserved homeowners in King City.  The lasting impact of the work you did will be seen over the next 25 years these systems are in operation.
