The Solar Affordable Housing Program currently works with the following local jurisdictions to install solar electric systems for existing homeowners:
In order to participate in the Solar Affordable Housing Program, you must be a resident of one of these municipalities. If your community is not listed but you would like information on what you can do to work towards making your community a future recipient, please contact us directly.
We also work with nonprofits like Habitat for Humanity to install solar electric systems on new homes – in these cases the homeowners do not apply to our program directly, but receive the program directly from the nonprofit building their home. Please contact us or visit our partners page if you work with a housing developer building affordable for-sale homes and would like more information about partnering with GRID Alternatives.
If you live in one of our current recipient communities, the first step to determining whether you may qualify is to answer the following four questions:
(2006 income limits for San Francisco - please contact us for the limits in your area).
If you answered yes to all of these questions, you may qualify to participate in the Solar Affordable Housing Program. To learn more about the program and begin the application process, please contact us for more information.
