As many in the vast land of GRID already know, it’s Solarthon season!
The season officially kicked off in the Bayview District of San Francisco. The GRID Bay area office along with a supportive group of volunteers, corporate sponsors and staff from other offices installed solar electric systems for 13 families on 1 block in 1 day! We congratulate our Northern GRID family on their accomplishments. We also want to congratulate our neighboring GRID family in San Diego who also hosted their own successful Solarthon. It was their 1st official Solarthon and everything went off without a hitch. Great job San Diego and thanks for inviting us to join in on the fun.
Building on the success of the Solarthons that have preceded and will precede ours, GRID GLA has been diligently knocking down pins to make the Greater Los Angeles Solarthon the best in our history - that is until next year of course. The Outreach team has been closely engaged with the Habitat for Humanity homeowners, while the Construction team handles the installation logistics. Our Director in conjunction with the Development team has been engaged with corporate sponsors and game day logistics while at the same time working with the Volunteer Liaison to ensure that all of the wonderful volunteers who are participating in Solarthon are pumped up and ready to roll! As the day gets closer and the intensity builds, you can smell and hear the excitement in the air.
Yes, November 5th is right around the corner and we can’t wait to install 10 solar electric systems for 10 families on 1 block in 1 day! We are still seeking the very best of Volunteers including women for an All Women’s build, to become participants and help fundraise for a worthy cause. Companies are also invited to join in on the fun with our other Corporate Sponsors including Yingli, Wells Fargo and SCE. Our GLA Advisory Council is also rolling up their sleeves with us.
