5/9/2011: In early May, a team of Sunpower volunteers came out to help GRID Alternatives install a 2.9kw system for a Richmond family. This system is estimated to provided over $29,000 in electricity savings to the family over a 30 year period, while also preventing over 117 tons of greenhouse gas emissions. One Sunpower employee shared that his experience volunteering on GRID solar installations has helped him improve processes and increase efficiency for his team at Sunpower. A true win-win-win situation at work, proving that we can all be part of the solution by working together in our communities!
A few Sunpower volunteers also chose to commute via bicycle to the work site to further reduce their environmental footprint. Thank you Sunpower for your continued generous support of our Solar Affordable Housing program!
