San Diego Client Information

Wayne Reed, a retired high school teacher, is a volunteer who has given his time on five installations. He originally began working with GRID Alternatives to learn more about solar as he was interested in getting solar for his home to protect against rising energy costs. Mr. Reed soon realized he qualified for GRID’s SASH Program. Mr. Reed helped install his system and also provided food for the volunteers. His enthusiasm about getting solar was evident. On the day of the installation he said, “I couldn’t sleep this week, I was so excited about this!”

We are all being encouraged to protect our environment and make better use of green energy. There are a number of benefits that can be derived by having a solar electric system:

Financial: Solar power will save you money. A solar electric system can save you up to 75% or more on your electricity bill, both immediately and for many years to come.

Environmental: Solar power is renewable. We never have to worry about running out of sunlight! Solar power has no emissions and does not pollute the air.

Low Maintenance: Solar panels are reliable with no moving parts. They last more than 20 years and operate silently.
