The GRID Alternatives Bay Area affiliate was founded in 2001 and currently shares an office with GRID Headquarters. Since 2004, the Bay Area and Headquarters office has helped hundreds of homeowners save thousands of dollars in electricity bills through solar installations and energy efficiency while keeping thousands of tons of greenhouse gasses out of the atmosphere, and providing thousands of hands-on experiences to eager volunteers and job-trainees.
