Mr. and Mrs. Mayuga have faced a number of challenges in the past few years - first, Mr. Mayuga lost his high paying job, and their family slid into debt before he was able to find work. Once he was working again, Mrs. Mayuga began to feel ill and was diagnosed with Leukemia. WIth rising medical expenses, two daughters in college, and only the support of a single income, the Mayugas needed to find a way to make ends meet. Luckily, they found out about GRID and were approved for a solar system - the Mayugas are looking forward to not having to worry that their income for a given month might not be sufficient. They’re hoping to save enough to go on vacation. “We are eternally grateful to GRID and its staff,” says Mrs. Mayuga, “ families like us would never have been able to afford solar panels if not for a program like this.”
